The many parts of the psyche and the role of the inner child
As humans, we are composed of many parts. Each part relates to a different role in our lives and every part of us is doing it's best to look after the child inside.
While the inner child is the emotional aspect of the mind, the inner adult is the logical part of the mind and wisdom is the higher (or spiritual) aspect.
Wisdom can teach the adult how to look after the child, and to see and balance the needs of every part of our psyche.
In therapy, creating a bridge between the adult and the child leads to deeper self-awareness and emotional well-being as you learn to become your own therapist.
How does inner child therapy heal emotional pain?
Inner child therapy begins by guiding you into a hypnotic state, where you can access a safe space in your mind.
In this state, the inner child is invited to float out of the adult's heart, and a process of inner communication begins.
You will learn ways to communicate internally, bond and connect to the child, address emotional needs and heal trauma, so that the child can learn and grow.
